Astellas Pharma

The Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas Pharma was founded after a merger in 2005. The Nordic departments chose to continue the use of Acubiz EMS, which one of the merging parts had implemented two years earlier.

A good investment
It turned out to be a wise decision to adjust the setup for the new system instead of throwing it away, according to Astellas Pharma's Nordic chief accountant, Michael Vorre:

"Acubiz EMS has done it much simpler for us and it was one of the things that helped us to make the work routines more effective without hiring more people.
Says Michael Vorre, who has no doubts that Acubiz EMS is a good investment in more manners:

Expense accounts in record time
"We're definitely happy about the system. It's a relief in the everyday life and gives us great return. Today we only spend one fifth of the time on making expense accounts as we did before we got Acubiz EMS. That means we now can use our resources on other things. And the system is fully integrated to our back office systems (ERP, finance etc.)", he says.


Greater discipline - better flow
But the investment in Acubiz EMS has also brought other good things:

"The system is developed for the employees. They've gotten a more meaningful day, because they're now the owners of the process and they're able to follow it", estimates Michael Vorre, who thinks that Acubiz EMS also have had an educational effect on the employees:

"During the merger we in the North chose to abolish the cash box and replace all company credit cards with private credit cards, which the individual employee is liable for. And that has in fact had a educational effect on our employees. They've become more disciplined and they do their expense account faster, because it's them who are liable. This gives a faster and more constant flow", stresses Michael Vorre.

Fits to the everyday life
The Nordic chief accountant accentuates the advantages about Acubiz EMS' user interface and structure:

"The user interface is simple and straight forward. This means that the system is simple to work with for the daily user. That's an advantage when we've got to train new employees. The interface in the admin-part is also very simple. We have made it close to the standard, so the user can have a good feeling of working in a known field. And it works fine. It's also positive to see that Acubiz collaborates with the clients to develop the system. ",
tells Michael Vorre, who rounds off by stressing, that others also will have great benefits from using Acubiz EMS:
